Hello fellow Pondmeisters.

Yep JHAP is still alive and yes a year older. 59 and I don't look a day over 71.

Well 2016 was a very eventful year for the Hasaponds.

At the very end of November 2016 Ricki and I put our Southern California property up for sale and moved 500 miles north to begin building on our pond property.

After 11 years our dream of building on our pond property will commence sometime in 2017.

This was a huge event, moving 500 miles, business and all to Placerville California. We are temporarily renting a home while we await the sale of the Southern California building. Once the building sells we will begin the process of building a house on our property. So now JWHAP (aka Ricki) and I are officially Placervillans (that's probably not the technical term but it has an appropriate ring to it).

Just since we've moved here we have received over 41 inches of rain. The rain has been amazing, setting 20 year old records. We are south and east of Oroville which I'm sure most of you have heard news about.

To say that the pond is full would be a massive understatement. Fortunately the spillway is doing it's job and our dam is holding up just fine. I thought in the past that I had witnessed the pond at it's highest point and boy was I wrong. The pond is full, full, full.

Ricki and I are doing well, amazingly she still manages to put up with my antics, which have slowed down a little bit over the past few years but not much.

DIED and I have been in contact a few times but haven't had a get together yet. We've been busy unpacking (damn the Hasaponds had a lot of stuff)! Over 300 moving boxes full of stuff plus all of our furniture, tools, etc. Heck my Brazillian Cut Neoprene Cod Piece collection took up 11 boxes alone. (Oh come on did you actually think I could reply without mentioning the almighty BCNP).

One more move (from the rental house to our pond property) and I am done moving. Well at least until they make me move to the Psycho-Neurotic Institute for the Very Very Nervous but I can assure you that will not be voluntary (unless perhaps German Chocolate Cake is involved).

Hopefully sometime in 2018 (or late 2017) if we're lucky we will be living the dream on our pond property. The pond needs a lot of work, once again it has become overgrown with weeds (Elodea and American Pond Weed). I can't tell what the fish population is like yet but hopefully my beloved Green Sunfish are still doing well and have not been bred out of existence by those harlot-like Bluegill.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I'll try to post here more often.

Sincerely,

Jhap

PS: Did I mention Brazillian Cut Neoprene Cod Pieces and that the pond was full?
