TH feeder, purchased Spring 2011. Client empties feeder of food, turns feed time off, leaves timer and battery in feeder. He leaves timer attached to the solar panel. SW Chicago Suburb. Still running strong on original battery.
I either turn mine off following the procedure above or leave it on one second at noon, depending on whether I have fish in the pond I am feeding or not. No problems here either.
