Hello all, first I would like to say it is nice to meet you all and next.... boy do I need some help with this "extra pond duty".

I purchased property with a 1/4 acre pond this last year in Fort Worth Texas and boy is it a learning experience as the pond was not maintained at all for 10 years and thirsty/hungry, trees, grapvines, pond weeds and algae had taken over the pond.

1. So far I have cleared the trees around with the pond with exception of some shade trees, pictures from Drone above:

2. I have an installed an aeration windmill and intend on putting in a solar system at some point to help out.

3. This is a run off pond that is roughly 8 feet deep on center and the edges are 3-5 feet at the banks.

4. I have a massive amount of weeds on the side and red/green (duckweed maybe?) on the top of the pond, any help on identification would be very helpful.

5. I have stocked it with 10lbs of Mozambique Tilapia for this year and have introduced no chemicals to the pond at all and I am not sure if they are even able to hold the growth back at this point.

Is there any hope for me at all? I feel like I am raising a swamp....
