My bass are feeding on pellets. I noticed something strange about 4 months ago. When I would feed in the evenings, the bream would come and my water is so clear I can see them coming up for the food. Im watching and all of a sudden a bass. The bass comes up and instead of hitting just one pellet like the bream, he tries to get as many pellets as he can in one gulp.
I just saw one doing this.
Now , all of a sudden, 20 bass or more in the evening are coming up and tearing that stuff up.sometimes they hit it so hard they knock smaller bream 3 feet in the air. There is no shortage of bream for the bass to eat, so im wondering whats going on.
Unless, there IS a shortage of bream. That's what im worried about.
Bass will indeed wipe everything out. I noticed toward the end of the year when I was feeding , that I didnt have near as many small bream coming up for the pellets. I think I need a coppernose spawn in there soon. Im sure the bass have wiped out the crawfish I put in there last year.
