I just mix in some 2mm feed with the larger 6mm feed that is primarily going to the perch. The shiners nail the 2mm feed every day. Its not much but they do very well on it. They will feed on the 6mm as well like its a big game of keep away.

I think as long as your breeding stock gets good feed and populates well your good.
