I stocked my LCS in June of 2009 at around 1.5" in size. I never saw a sign of them again until April of 2012 when I started seeing 6"-8" adults cruising the shallows and then doing their spawning gig. Really the only time I see them is in the spring when they come shallow to spawn. Otherwise, they seem to stay in deeper water.
In a new pond such as yours, I could easily see them being 4-5 inches if not larger by spring. My largest LCS are in excess of a foot long now. As a side note, LCS are extremely winter kill tolerant from my experience. This past winter, I had an almost complete winter kill of all game fish. HSB, SMB and CC and lost my larger RES and RBS. My LCS came through just fine...
