A good way to achieve this this progress is through the exchange of ideas, regardless to whatever degree they may differ from ours, and consider them thoroughly and objectively. I found my intellectual growth was only possible when I started treating my positions and opinions as malleable - and when I adopted a willingness to reevaluate them based on new evidence or new viewpoints introduced to me, my universe began expanding.
