I'm going to check the ponds today. I'd say we're in the 5 inch range or so...should be good to walk on water and jerk some lips this weekend.
What part of Central Illinois? I'm 90 miles south of Danville and today is our first day of real ice, maybe an inch. The drainage ditches through farm fields had no ice at about noon today and the large gravel pits were still open water out past 100 or so feet from shore. Got down to 1 last night and up to 17 today
