Get a sawzall, cut the plates off, pound them into the pond. Do what ewest and a few others do, rope around the tree, loop one end of the rope around the pipe.

Yep.. I thought I'd have to cut them off. Oh well. I'll have to look up their posts. I was thinking of setting the pipes and cedars on the ice when it freezes this winter. And yes, it's still holding water. Down maybe another half inch this week, maybe a little more. Three weeks since the last rain down about three inches over all.
