Here is a thread on some thoughts on culling bass and how many to remove each year. At least three things determine how many bass to remove each year.
1. Goal or desired sizes in the top group of biggest bass: a general mixture; all sizes, is it mostly medium sizes 2-3lbs, large sizes 4-6lbs, or mostly trophy 7-9lb. The smaller the majority of the bass are the EASIER and more often it is to catch bass.

2. Age of the pond, generally the older or more mature the pond the more bass that should be removed if big bass are the goal.

3. Fertility of the pond and if panfish are fed pellets - pond productivity determines how many pounds of bass could be present.
