ZEP, you might consider a little backing on your reel. My brother and I were after brownies on the Pierre Marquette in Michigan when we ran into the King Mackrel spawning run. We caught 4 apiece and kept one. 5 wt rods and 20/30 lb fish! We each had 100 ft of backing and that saved the day!
