Carrying a firearm is a personal decision with a personal responsibility to know how to safely use it.
Many animals while not normally dangerous can still be rabid.
I carry concealed not out of fear but mainly to reinforce my second amendment rights, and it's better to carry and never need it than to have it at home if you do need it.
