If there were enough cover in the pond to establish FHM, I would be afraid of that same cover providing refuge to my yoy BG, preventing the LMB from keeping the BG population in check. In my opinion, and it is opinion only, you would be trading a possible increase in forage for your BG, for a probable increase in your BG population....almost like one would cancel the other out.

Not to mention the FHM would provide another source of food for the LMB, thereby taking the pressure off of the BG. Doesn't sound ideal to me.
