I bought two 6x6 pop ups made by Clam/Cabelas last year - both were utter disasters. First trip on the ice two poles and a hub broke. Sent in received another. On second visit another hub broke in addition to the zipper jamming. Returned and began researching.
For pop ups it seems the Eskimo 6 man received pretty solid reviews. I bought one this Fall, and we now have ice, so I'll take it out this week and post my feedback. Pop-ups are ideal for my four person family and much cheaper than their sled counterparts, but there may be a reason for this - meaning poor construction.
I've heard nothing but positive feedback on the Otter products, but they are very pricey and heavy. Meant to be pulled by ATV/UTV or Snowmobile I think. Not a good solution for a pond hopper like myself.
