Dave, we have been cleaning out a few ponds around our area. The water is a slimy green and very nasty smelling. I am not enough of an expert to know if the algae present is blue-green algae or not. But I would think it would happen in ponds first as they would be shallow even before the lakes.
We were at Lake Texoma a few weeks ago and the water was fine. It is amazing how fast it can change.
