I am not sure how to even explain this but here goes: We put in a pond last fall on land we had just bought. One area was always yet so I though I could put some drain tile down to feed the pond. So the pond went in and I dug a little hole where it was wet and found about 12" down a hole about an 1" or so wide that water was flowing out of. Now this is on a hill so I started digging to see how far up the hill this went. Everywhere I found the hole it was about 12" down. I stopped after it just keeped going. Now it only flows in spring and fall(I assume when the water table is high). I guess I'm not sure what this is, I'm confussed as to why it is 12" down on a hill. I would think it would be deeper as I go up the hill. I guess my question is has anyone ever heard of something like this and I am trying to get as much water to pond as possible, so is there anything I can do with this to increase water supply, dig well etc. Any help or info would be appreciated
