The previous owner stocked them and I did my best to fish them all out. I haven't caught one since 2008 before the pond was renovated. I'm hoping that this is the last one (again).


I hate to tell you this, but it probably isn't the last one. I think I went for two years without catching a crappie out of the pond after I thought I fished them out.

This is our sixth season with this pond. So far, the crappie have been well behaved. I have fantastic bluegill and catfish. Most crappie are between 11 and 14 inches when we catch them. (Most bass are 10-11 inches -- but that is OK.)

Maybe you should try feeding them.
