As time passes, I am more and more convinced that our HSB have controlled recruitment of BG as well as LMB. No small tilapia observed as well.
Last year I could not trap or catch any BG under ~5 inches or LMB under ~15 inches. I’ll do more trapping this spring to convince myself, but with this year’s 5-year-old HSB crop, with annual stocking “ladders”, I believe the overpopulation problem of BG and LMB has been solved. We’ll see.
We are producing CNBG over 11 inches and approaching ~ 1.5 lbs. Don’t know why it won’t work with crappie.
