You know that Bruce was probably taunting that Redear, and look what happened.

I'll have to put some thoughts together for the eulogy.

"Sure Bruce had some vices & addictions, but who doesn't? Even when the gas had him in it's clutches, he never expressed ill will towards other humans....just other fish such as Yellow Perch and Redear Sunfish. Eventually though, he taught his fish too much, and they used it against him. As far as we know, he didn't suffer as he was on a three-day bender with Jack Daniels. On a side note, Jack Daniels has started a foundation in Bruce's honor, called 'Jack, DMD, and Killer Sunfish Don't Mix'"
