It was a sunny 70 degree day in East Texas today. I starting some spot feeding about a week ago and nothing came up to feed.
Yesterday CCs and BGs started surface feeding. For awhile I was worried that the otter cleaned me out before I got rid of him.

For all the new pondmeisters out there just starting out today was one of those special days when all the pond work, care, and $$$$ made it all worthwhile. I spent a couple of hours late afternoon just observing my beloved pond.

To actually observe LBs cruising the shallows and attaching small BGs was a site to see. Most of the sightings were in the 2-4 lb class which validates removing the small ones we catch.

It was a special day today and one I hope every pond boss gets a chance to see. Today was what it's all about. I tell this story for those just getting started. Don't get frustrated which is easier said than done. It is worth the time and energy.
