The fish are biting again

Spent all winter wondering if I would regret turning my aerator off for the winter in South Dakota. After a wet spring i still hadn’t seen a fish in the pond. And only caught 3 fish all winter. I was worried I might have lost my fish with the crazy icedeprh and snow cover we had.

This afternoon I snuck out and before I even rigged up I could see 3/4 different age classes of BG and multiple LMB swimming. As I waited on the next bobber to plunge I was even greeted by the resident Walleye. 18 inches when I put her in, as he swam by. I have a lot of success on my pond catching the 2/3 in bass and throwing them under a bobber. For the predators to attack. That’s how I hooked on to the 17 in LMB in the picture. My pond goals are big YP and BG. I rarely throw a LMB back unless it’s one of the 3 original stocker fish. I also caught one of last year’s YOY YP. I have small mouth coming in a month after that I will never let a LMB into my pond again. The first three were put in long before I read and realized what prolific breeders they are.

Just wanted to give a shout out for all the questions and answers given on this site. I’m usually just a type in question, end question with pond boss on google and see what you guys have to say.

Couldn’t see the scales. Weight?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I thought I posted two pictures. I couldn’t get it figured out yet how to add another one. The LMB in the picture was just over 2lbs.

C Peasy, resave and post the pics with a".jpg" not ".jpeg" extension. My guess is that should fix the problem.
