Never heard of a wheel bug. What does it do?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Handle with great care! "When disturbed, the wheel bug can inflict a painful bite. The bite has been described variously as worse than stings from bees, wasps, or hornets." http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/trees/wheel_bug.htm

I read that the Wheel Bug inject a poison in it's victim that dissolves the tissues, and then the bug sucks up dinner.

Insects of this type inject digestive juices into their prey and then suck up the digested "food". They use the prey as their stomach.
