Fish ID help please

I stocked my pond last spring with 100, 3-4" HBG and 5 LBS of FHM from Southland Fisheries and now getting palm sized fish out and the grandkids are having a ball. Put my minnow trap in to capture some FHM and all I got was about 25 of these. I think they're BG but need verification.

Larry - The fish in the first picture is a hybrid bluegill(HBG) because of the light colored rear margin on the gill flap. The pictured fish are rather small and identification of them at this size is tricky. The 2nd fish also suggests hybrid bluegill. The light color margin of the anal fin suggests they might / could be coppernose bluegill who can have marginal color on some of the fins. However if your fish in the picture were coppernose bluegill the gill flap would definitely be ALL black and with no light colored rear margin. The light color margin on the gill flap almost always comes from genetic influence of the green sunfish.
Look at the variation of coppernose bluegill in this link. Note the fins sometimes have some colored margins, however the gill flap is ALWAYS pure black with no colored margin.

I cannot tell you where they came from, but the 1st fish is definitely not pure strain bluegill. Since you originally stocked hybrid BG these look like their offspring.

Thanks Bill, Rainman is planning a trip east and if he does, he'll be bringing me some YP and HBG. They should help with population control.

Larry maybe I'm confused but in your post above you state that you stocked HBG now that seemed to be what these are is that not what you expected?

Thanks

Just reread what I posted... frown

If Rainman makes the trip east I asked him to bring me YP and HSB, not HBG. Sorry for the confusion.
