Love it John!, Say, I want to build one. Do you have the link to the type of carpet it was at Walmart? Is it holding up as you had hoped? do they need that overlap flap of carpet down in the water to help them get up and on the top of the island?
Thanks CC

Canyoncreek as I remember the carpet was 5 feet by 7 feet sold at walmart last spring in my home town. I cut the foam off the end at 7 feet long as I remember and let 6 inches of the carpet drape down into the water on each side of the 4 feet wide area for the turtles to climb onto the island. The carpet was made in Egypt and I forget what it was made from but it is rugged. But outdoor carpet would work also. I think black is best since it warms from the sun and the turtles go after the warmth to sun bathe. For so little money and time invested it produces great fun for me.
