Hi everyone,

Just moved into a home with a pond and have been trying to get everything back under control. I screwed up a bit and am not sure if anyone has a thought on how to fix it.

I surface sprayed Weedtrine D-1 mixed with water per the directions on the bottle in a 2 gallon sprayer. Pond is about 1/5 acre. Problem is that, while I read it on the label, I completely forgot to add a surfactant and I'm fairly sure that there is quite a bit of herbicide floating as a thin film on top of the water.

Any idea on what I can do to remedy this? I've got kids and a dog that I don't think it'd be super healthy for them to be around it...we're not allowing anyone to swim in it until I get it all under control. I'm also sure that the Weedtrine isn't doing what it's supposed to because it's still floating.

MIght try mixing the aquatic surfactant without any Weedtrine and spray the surface where it is floating. Wait till the wind has pushed it to one side.

However I question if the film you are seeing is actually the Weedtrine....

Brian,

Tried the surfactant with just water, and maybe it helped, maybe it didn't. I still see something at the top, but I'm wondering like you said if it was actually the Weedtrine.

What I remember about the day I sprayed the weedtrine is that it was also the day that the cottonwood fell on the pond. It sat on top for I believe two days, then about disappeared. I still see what's possibly particles at the top, but I can't tell. Maybe this is just what it looks like when cottonwood breaks down / gets wet on top of the pond?
