Yes, that is a capped drainpipe of my newly renovated 2 acre pond.

After 18 months of waiting and 2 months of having dirt pushed around my contractor dropped off the cap and I put it on. Woo hoo!!!! I plugged it up and stared at it for a while. Water level didn't move much in those few minutes ;\) but I'm hopeful it will fill.

While I was there I added some 2x6 supports for the dock posts to give it more stability just in case. I figured it was cheap, easy insurance while there was still no water.

If I can get some water in there over the next few weeks I'll be putting some fatheads in.

A sincere thank you to everyone on this message board and to Mr. Lusk for his magazine and books. I honestly feel that my chance of success with this project was greatly enhanced by ALL of your experiences, opinions, ideas, suggestions and advice.

Oh, Sunil, I'm drinking a beer right now, facing west. Cheers!

RobA what a terrific job on a beautiful pond. Your chance of success was IMO increased to near certainty by your willingness to learn the principles involved and your hard work in putting them in place. We ,collectively , are glad to have helped a little. Thanks for the story and pics along the way !!

One question -- Does that mean we all own a small part of the pond ? We will be there soon to go fishing. ;\)

Right after "we all" chip in for fish stocking and feeding, and take care of the maintenance around "our" pond. ;\)

Let's see... 2 surface acres, average depth of 6.5' (?), 13 acre-feet of water, 3,786 PB Forum members....that's about 1,100 gallons each.

Make all checks out to "cash".
