Added some structure today to complement the rock piles. I had made them over the winter using 4" drainpipe, 30 gallon poly barrels, and PVC. I also got a few plastic pallets and a bunch of milk crates over the past few months too.

Here is a pallet/milk crate creation. I hope fatheads use it to spawn. It's secured with rebar and poly rope.


I added 2 landscape pipe structures between rock piles. I filled the center with 2" gravel. Not sure if it will do any good. On the right side of the picture there is also a single pallet structure with 2 milk crates.


Here is the poly barrel structure and 3 PVC trees. The poly barrel structure is like a giant version of Bruce Condello's BG condo. It will be in about 10 feet of water and stands 3+ feet tall. I originally made 3 separate structures with 5 barrels each. I decided to put them all together. I haven't secured them to the pond bottom yet. Not sure if they will be in water that is too deep. The PVC trees are in 5 gallon paint buckets which are secured w/ 4' sections of rebar and filled with gravel and some dry sakrete. The picture doesn't show it but there are 2 rock/boulder piles off to the right.


I'll be adding a few more PVC trees and milk crate structure this week.

No CC. Fatheads, BG and LMB. Maybe shiners and HSB later on. I know CC would probably love to use parts of the barrel structure to spawn but most of the barrels have something in them. Here is a closeup of one of the sections (my daughter insisted on decorating it with a Sharpie)

Tell me about it. I've got cuneiform inscriptions on clay tablets appearing on SMB bed rocks all over my new pond.
