Anyone know of a source for bulk gypsum or alum in East Texas area? I found 40 pound bags of Gypsum at the local feed store but they only have 10 bags and don't think they can get more. At $9 a bag I passed on them.

Try the US Gypsum website. I believe they list sources.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

US Gypsum does not have bulk sources in this area. I have a local feed store looking for bulk Gypsum. They can only order in 25 ton quantities - which could be a problem! I did find that Home Depot sells 40 lb bags of pelletized gypsum for $7.49 and the older Lowes have it at $7.99.

Check your local nurseries, and ask them for a quantity discount.
