I just wanted to thank everyone for everything at the meeting yesterday. What a great meeting, even though I didn't make it for all of it. It is always good to see Lusk come up all the way from TX and Norm from SD. I learned alot yesterday and just wanted to thank everyone involved. Unfortunately we didn't get to throw Shorty into the HSB pond. I really think they would try to eat him.

Thanks for letting us use your place Bruce.

PS Cliffbrook, I sure hope you can make some more meetings.

I had a great time, I wish I hade made it out there a little earlier in the day, and thanks everybody for NOT throwing me in HSB pond, the way they were herding pellets yesterday I would have never made it out of the pond. \:\)

Speaking of herding those pellets: I think Bruce needs to put a sequence of pictures up showing the HSB herding those pellets together. WOW!! What a sight that was. I'm sure they would have taken you down like a pack of pirahna.

I'm just thinking forward here...if Shorty succumbed to the HSB, would B.I.S.A. be able to put a lein on Shorty's pond in lieu of the B.I.S.A. initiation/membership dues.

Thanks to Cliffbrook, Shorty, NEDOC, Norm, Lusk...everybody....Great time!

Wasn't that funny how those wipers would push all the pellets into a tiny space, just like they were going after shad? Wild!

It was also funny how 5-6 inch HSB would slam those giant largemouth pellets into submission. They knocked it around like it was sand volleyball.

Lots of fun.

You must be a Nutty Professor. Most of mine would have just said "Vaya Conderosa!" and had a TA pass out the syllabus.

Well, Theo, the story is a lot longer, but I won't bore everyone here. Lots of balls in the air first several days of a semester. I even came home early from the American Fisheries Society meeting in San Francisco. Really. Trust me. \:\)

We sampled two CSBG with Lusk there, then I caught three more with Shorty there, and they ALL were 140's!

Master Pondmeister Lusk has a picture. If he sends it to me I will photoshop it up real good and post it on the forum.

Did I just say that out loud?

Bruce, what length are your 140 WR BG’s?
With lowering water temps I’ll begin fishin’ and anxious to see what kind of growth we’ve had this summer – if any.

It appears that our larger CNBG slow down in length and increase in width and thickness at about 10 inches?

7 1/2 to 8 3/8 inches on the BG's.

I think all bluegill start to decrease drastically in "length added" when they hit about ten inches.

Oh no, Eric, you've just forced me to "brag." Darn it. \:\)

Melissa won the best student poster competition. Work she presented involved the Jesse West endowment. How cool is that? We probably need to bring Melissa to Pond Boss II??

I haven't heard yet from Jeff (larval bluegill and yellow perch). However, I'm sure he did fine. He's got a lot of experience.

That's the nice thing about Ph.D. students. They really don't need me any more!

Bob, Bruce, Shorty, NEDOC and Ree (fron Iowa), thank you so very much for a great get together. Bruce is such a wonderful host! These are great people to be around. Yes, we talk about fish, of course. But we talk about so many other things and it's really a bunch of friends getting together. Bob Lusk is the frosting on the cake and a wonderful excuse for the get together. Thank you all!
