I am planning a pond. Should turtles and crawfish be added into the eco system?
And what about stocking "wild" forage species (using a castnet)Will they grow too big?

You might have to add crawfish, but I assure you that you will soon have more turtles than you want. If there are streams or ponds anywhere close, you won't have to add crawfish either.
I wouldn't stock any "wild" forage species, because you won't know what species you are going to get.
A few baby carp added to your pond will cause you a lot of problems. It would be best to only stock the species that you know will not ruin your pond.
