I was out on the deck on the pond this afternoon. I sat down the the chair that I normally only set in to feed the fish. I was sitting there enjoying a rum and Coke when I looked up there were 3 LMB and I don't know how many BG hanging near the surface where I usually throw food to. As long as I sat there they just hung there. As soon as I went to stand up they were off in a flash. Could it be that they have come to associate me sitting be in that spot with getting food?

One can only hope. I've been really wanting some of my fish to reach that point, but they are very wary of me in each pond. I wish I had a few that would come and hang out with me.

I have BG that will swim from the far side of the pond to where I usually feed them. Now anytime I start my four wheeler and drive around the pond they follow me. Pretty cool.

Tom, I bet your fish are getting conditioned to hearing your footsteps on your deck with getting fed pellets.

I too can see mine coming from all over the pond when I walk onto the dock. I've also got a big orange koi who seems to just enjoy being with the rest of the fish. When I feed, he just swims around, but doesn't eat any of the pellets. And, theres is one crazy bass about 14 inches long that makes like the pellets are mayflies six inches above the water.
I don't have the heart to fish from dock anymore.

My pond is surrounded by pasture, and I will often catch handfuls of grasshoppers to toss in the pond to watch them get snapped up by the GSF. They will follow me as I walk around the pond, waiting for the next treat. They really are bold, I could reach out and scoop one out with a dip net, but they are way to fast.

robo2011 you've been holding out on the GSA (green sunfish association ) i would like to see you start yer own thread showing some pics of yer green sunnies. bruce, i'd be wary of you too when i walk anywhere close to the pond, the "wakes" develop and the fish come a runnin...i love it. this evening, the normal maruading BG school was so active it brought a couple of the lunker greenies up from the depths to see what was going on. for the first time i've ever seen, one of my big guys took a pellet in a dramatic "kill" at the surface......i dont know if this made me happy or sad......they were of the few "wild" fish i had in the pond.
GSF are people too!

I know I have bass in the pond, I have seen a few adults and plenty of juveniles near the shore line, but never hooked one, although I have certainly tried, believe me. The sunfish are always there waiting for food patroling around.
