I don't like the sound of that! Is this an entirely new development? Would you be reimbursed in some way to create a new pond? Glad you have some water finally, but I hope you don't lose the pond later!!

Bruce, As we understand it, they will only reimburse us for the cost of the land. There is really no other good place for a pond on this property. We had planned to build our last house on this property, but now we don't know what to do. It is a real set back for us. We know that there is really no recourse, as they will condem it if we won't sell.

Well, if the TX hwy department is anything like the LA hwy dept., your pond is safe for years to come. Things will work out. Best of luck!

They have to pay "just compensation". That means what it is worth with the pond and fish. Not just the land. See if they will make you a pond when they build the road.
