The whole places is awash. My main pond did not fill up. It was 6 ft low and is now 6 inches low. It has also gone from being 1/2 acre to about 1 3/4 acres. It would have filled but the volume of water made a new runoff area and went behind the dam.

On another one, it went from about 1/6 acre to approx. 3/8 acre and did run around.

Another overflowed. It was about 3 ft. low and is now full. It is about an acre.

I tossed out a lot of food but got very little response. Lots of turbidity, scattered fish and colder water.

4 real small ponds also overflowed.

I gotta figure out how to post pictures.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dave, posting pics is pretty easy. I use "Photobucket" to host my pics...it's free.
-set up an account w/photobucket
-use their upload to browse for the pic on your computer and upload it.
-once it's on photobucket, you will notice their are 3 links below the picture. The 3rd link is the "Img" link. If you copy and paste that link into your message, you are good to go. The pic will open automatically for viewing.

Good luck with it!

It ain't much of story if you don't have pictures!

Dave, maybe we can meet for lunch later this week and I'll give you some pointers.
I believe Theo may have posted instructions in the archives?

Posting Photos on PB Forum

3.5 inches at our ponds but not quite to spillway siphon at main pond to flush 4 years worth of nutrients.
I'm headed that way in a bit and can't wait to see ponds with water.

OK, I have a couple of them on Photobucket. What would be the next steps?

In detail please. I need for this to be insultingly stupid proof.

Hey Dave,

On your Photobucket album, you have icons of your pictures. Under the icons, you have 3 lines of code. Put your mouse on the bottom line that is labled "IMG Code". The text inside the line should change to gray.

Hold down the "ctrl" key, and tap the "c" key. That will copy the code for your chosen picture.

Now the code is copied, and you can return to Pond Boss.

Now write your reply in the Pond Boss forum. Put your mouse cursor in the reply box, and hold down the "ctrl" key again, and tap the "v" key.

A string of "IMG" code should appear. Done! Complete your reply, and your picture should be there.

I think you guys are over complicating it a bit, or at least I'm getting confused.

First thing I do is have two screens open. Ond here on Pond Boss, the other screen is Photobucket.

You have to be in the "Full Reply Form" when you reply to post a pictre.

At the bottom of the "Full Reply Form" page, there is a list of boxes. One is called "Image"

Click on "Image" and a long, thin box will apear on your screen called "Eplorer User Promtpt" If you have any sort of protection, fire wall, spam filter or whatever, a warming might apear first asking you to allow this to open. I have to click yes to temporarily allow it. Then I click on "Image" again, and the box apears.

There is a line in the box that will start with http:// and is highlighted in blue.

Go to your photobucket page now. Unlike the others, I highlight the first line under my picture. It's called "URL Link" I've tried the others, but for whatever reason, they don't always work for me.

After highlighting it, right mouse click on it and click copy.

Go back to the Pond Boss screen and right click on the blue area in the small box. Click "Paste" and it will replace what was already there.

Click "OK" and some code will apear in your reply box. It won't show up as the picture, just a line or two of letters and symbols.

Click "Add Reply" and it will post with pics.

Hope this helped.

Eddie

Alternate method to Bob's.

On your Photobucket album, you have icons under each of your pictures. Under each pic , you have 3 lines of code. Put your mouse on the bottom line that is labeled "IMG Code". Click - text inside - the line should change to gray/color.

Go to edit at top of page - click - then click on copy. That will copy the code for your chosen picture.

Now the code is copied, and you can return to Pond Boss.

Now write your reply in the Pond Boss forum. Then go to edit - at top of page - click - then click on paste. A string of "IMG" code should appear. Done! Complete your reply, and your picture should be there. Call me if you have questions.

Dave, congragulations, as I know it has been a long time coming. If you don't mind, would you let us know how much the ground absorbs or drinks? Do you think it will stay at pool or fall a few feet? We are in a drought that no old timer has seen in TN, and the ground is very dry by March/April standards. I would like to know what you experience. Maybe I can deduce a comparison.

Congrats.

DD1.........CONGRATULATIONS FROM EL DORADO!!

its been a long time coming for you.

for photos, the easiest way i found is to have two internets open, PB and photobucket. simply highlight and copy the [IMG] line under the photo in photobucket, and paste it into the PB reply box....preview the post to make sure its o.k.

i've done it eddies way to: in the full reply forum, click image in PB and it opens a little menu box asking for the photo link. go to photobucket, highlight and copy the [URL] line under the photo, paste it back into the PB little menu box, hit o.k., and it puts it in the reply.

Dave I am very happy for you and your ponds. For some of you that don't live around here in the Dallas area, we have been in a severe drought for the last two years. Dave and I have been sending private messages back and forth relating how much rain we didn't get for about those two years. So Dave does this mean that you can stop having to watch the weather and radar every day?

Dave,
You're not going to know how to act with some water in those tanks. Learning "how to manage a full pond" will be new ground for you. Congrats.

I would like to ask everyone to join hands for a moment of silence-- followed immediately by a Kiowa Rain Dance for those pals of mine in the N.Texas dust bowl. James, did I mention that a full pond looks better than a dry hole?!

My fish are walking back to the water where they belong.

DD - would love to see those full tanks!

Sign on to your PhotoBucket album:

1. Check the box (under each photo) of the Photo(s) you want to post.

2. Scroll to the bottom of that page and click on the grey button that says, "Generate HTML and IMG code".

3. A new screen comes up with 5 boxes. Each has a bunch of "HTML" programming code in it. Ignore the actual code in the box.

4. Click anywhere inside the middle Box, it will automatically highlight the HTML code and copy it to your clipboard. A little pop-up says "copied".

5. You are done on PhotoBucket. Go to PondBoss and begin a post. Position your cursor wherever you want the photos to appear and Right Click, the left click on "paste" OR hit "Edit" and "Paste" from the menu bar above.

6. Done. Hit Preview Post or Add Reply to post.

This will place a Thumbnail(s) photo in your post (this saves a lot of download time for folks on dial up + keeps down costs for PB). When folks view your post, they will see a thumbnail(s) and can click on it to view the full sized picture.

Let see 'em, we been waitin 2 years! \:D

Tomorrow, I'll try again.

Dont show him that, Ewest. Just another excuse not to post pics. "I've gotta watch the weather channel". Or, "I'll take more pics after they're fuller." Hey, that would work. :p \:D . Hope some goes Southeast.

Yeah, it tore a little bit of stuff up. Not too bad, all things considered. I had to pick up my wife from work and got whacked on the ear by a quarter sized hail stone. I also got blown off my feet. I expect the hail will leave a pretty dandy bruise. I'm applying JD and water as a medication.

Our weather pretty much sucks in western PA. Lows in the high 20's or low 30's, highs around 40.

This is all after it being about 75 ten days ago.

My pond is lonely (well...I hope it's lonely 'cause it ain't me being there)

Eric,
2.25" here at the BarO last night. Raised the pond to FULL+ (about 12-14" runoff)again. This was just a sprinkle compared to the Denton area(30 miles north of DFW).....they got between 7-9".
The Lusk Lodge should have got wet too!

I doubt that I got a whole lot. It looked like a thin band that went across my place. Most of it hit just North of the D/FW metroplex. One small town, Aubrey, got 10 inches.

Somehow, I'll find out this weekend.

Nope, I tried and got one up but didn't figure out how to add comments. I deleted it. I keep procrastinating because I don't have the ones in Photobucket that I want.

And, my wife is going to kick my butt if I spend much more time here.
