I just heard on the radio that this was going to be the first year that they did drug testing for the international fishing tournament in Europe. What kind of drugs would they be testing for and how would that give you an advantage?

Are they testing the fishermen or the fish?

They are testing the French participants to make sure they have taken the anti-wining drug. The drug is meant to keep them from wining about having to fish for more than 2 hours per day without receiving any government benefits.

No I had just heard it on the radio coming to work on espn radio. They had been talking about steroid use in baseball and one of the guys had said that this would be the first year for drug testing in the European fishing tournaments. I don't know what drugs they were testing for or for what reason. I will try and find out more and post it.

Must be for safety on the water when going high speed in boats?
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

The only drugs that I could see as an advantage would be stimulants. They might increase the stamina of the fishermen on a long day of fishing.

I can see guys at bass tournaments popping pain pills, a two day practice followed by a 3 day tournament can be hard on your back from standing on the trolling motor all day. A good number of pro bass fisherman do have back problems. It's one of the reasons you see recessed foot contolled trolling motor on the newer bass boats these days.

Well, if you were using LSD, you might accidently pick out a natural color lure thinking it was phychedelic. You would have an advantage over the 'normal' fisherman who has a box full of irridescent, hologram colors from Academy Sports.

I caught that show at my pond, too! Rolling Spawn ... School of Fish ... Flock of Seagulls-totally awesome! Too bad the Blowfish couldn't make it (Hootie had a bad case of fish lice).

Sunil (aka; Keith) takes us back to join his wacky antics as a successful TV sitcom rocker. Those pillow fights in the back of the bus with that little red-headed brat, Danny, must have put Reuben over the edge. Whatever happened to Laurie? - - - - - -

I've only just begun Brettski! :p Every now and then I'll slip something into a thread. Sorry Theo but that pic was ripe for the pickin'! Stuff like this lightens up a board. It was quite rampant in the old duck central days. I bought a 17' Gator Trax and a 25Hp Kohler Mud Buddy Motor for some mud flats hunting and the first picture of me in my new boat was posted by a good friend of mine in Temple. Here it is: Now does that look like a Mud Buddy? Dang....... There will be more........ oh yes, there will be more.......
