I just wanted to introduce myself..I have lurked here for awhile now, I live in SW Missouri on 20 acres. We put in a new pond in 03, its about a half acre. It seams to be doing quite well. We stocked it with BG,CC,FHM,and a few LMB. We have had a spawn of all of the spieces we stocked. This drought has taken its toll on the water level but the fish seam to be doing good so far. I recently found out we have Muskgrass and just had a big algea bloom. If we get the money we want to add another pond, hopefully a larger one. My son runs heavy equippment so all we really need is a dozer to use LOL. My name is Chris, I'm female and married for 16 years. Just wanted to say HI.

Thanks h20fwlkillr! Yes BassPro is a great place my brother in law has worked there for 20 some years. Here is another pic of the pond from the other side. Has any one ever seen this? He bit off a bit more then he could chew.

Ava is home to world famous bass fisherman Rick Clunn, and home to some of the best trout farms in that part of the world. Ava is a great fisheries town. Welcome to Pond Boss.

Welcome to PB Chris. I think you'll find this forum a wealth of info, at least I sure do. Having a son that is a heavy equipment operator will sure come in handy!

NWW,
Welcome. My grandparents had a farm outside Ava with a pond that looked much like yours. Spent many good times there.
Hopefully this drought will end soon and your pond and ours will fill up again.

Thanks everyone!!! Thats cool that you know about Ava... Most people say "Where the "H**L" is Ava?" LOL It's also known for the Missouri Foxtrotter Headquarters. But I ride Tennessee Walkers LOL.
I have been to some of the Trout Farms here. RockBridge is the one I know the best, I was there one day and all these guys were fly fishing and couldn't catch any thing...so me being me I went out there with a bobber and some worms and caught 6 rainbows... everyone there said I wasn't gonna catch a thing using a bobber. They were laughing at me.. till I started pullin in the big ones. LOL Then they all started looking to find a bobber and worms!.. LOL Shows ya a gal CAN out fish the guys once in awhile. LMAO.
Meadowlark...thats neat that your grandparents lived here...small world...I'm out by Goodhope..ifn you know where that is. And yeah we do need the rain..the pond has dropped about 4 ft since that pic was taken.
Thanks again, Chris

Chris,
Do you happen to be familiar with Crystal Lakes Trout farm? I'm planning to order some rainbows for winter stocking this year from them.
