Just returned from visiting a friend in Caper, Wyoming. His next door neighbor had two ponds with Cutthroat's in them. It was really cool. Wish I had got pictures. They did come to feed, but were sluggish because of 103 degree heat.

heybud, saw yer post and was reminded of some nice fish i caught over New Years this year. they are hybrid rainbow and cutthroat called "cutbows" raised at a local hatchery and stocked at a local reservoir near me.

just thought i would show you some pics for comparison's sake......three different fish....

please excuse the the really stupid facial expressions, but i was really feeling like a kid again catching these nice (fantastic eating) fish on both fly rod (big black streamer) and spin casting (gold spoon)....they fight like the devil

Dave, The friend I stayed with had a Cutbow mounted and also had a 10lb rainbow he had caught in the North Platte. Nice fish you're holding, are they tasty?

Awesome table fare. if you catch the planted fish in the first year, they have white meat, after being in lake a while (>2 years) they develop pink meat. after cooking my fish, one had white meat, the other two had pink meat and better flavor....my family devoured em for breakfast the next day.

Just got news there was a big fire on Casper Mountain. The helicopters swoped in and used my friends ponds for water, also scooping up most of his cutthroats and dropping them on the fire.

Dave, I wish my family would eat fresh fish for breakfast. Wonder if Sara Lee makes toaster fish fillets?
