Sunil, you need to import some NE Redears to teach your Smallmouths some manners.

This smallie was talking so much smack on your Nebraska smallies that I almost didn't let him back in the water.

Decorum does not allow me to repeat some of the things he said, but rest assured that he did mention your smallies' mothers.
I will pass it on to my smallies, it will get them all fired up. \:D

Theo that would be a real test of mean and smart vs. genius. A clash of Titians.

Now I am going to have to take some time to catch one of my Smallies that has been in school all summer and find out what he has learned over the summer. There is no summer break for these smallies. \:D

Sunil - that kind of smack talk is something I would expect only from a Florida strain LMB, but from a PA smallie that's something else. It sounds like I may need to hire some NE (Big) Red ear sunfish this fall to ramp up the attitude with my smallies. \:D

As I said, I'm very saddened at the bitter attitude of this specific fish.

My smallies have always demonstrated a confident, yet humble nature. Maybe every once in a blue moon, you'd catch a little bit of cockiness, but in more of a joking way.

I mean they've verbally degraded some other fish before like bullheads, but to hear them talk smack on one of their own species.

Sunil, that last one might be your funniest post ever. This wasn't just a lip service LOL. It was a full blown Hee-haw that made my wife think I was losing my mind.

I find the only fish truly committed to inter-piscean relations and consistantly sensitive toward other species are Rainbow Trout.

Sunil – I caught this 9” SMB Saturday and told him that your PA smallie was talking smack about his mother. He politely said nothing but you could see the fire light up in his eyes. Then I asked him how school was going since he would be facing this smack talking PA smallie in a future NE vs. PA match up.

He politely responded “Just fine and dandy.”

Then I quizzed him, I asked him to give me a synopsis of Thomas Kuhn’s The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.

He then gave me a smart Alec reply, “which chapter?”

For which I gave him a smart Alec response “each one of them”, then he proceeded to give me synopsis of each chapter in fluent Spanish and I was indeed impressed.

Afterwards he thanked me for the weeks of intensive BG training this spring, it had allowed him to triple the amount of time he could spend studying in preparation for the PA match up. He also stated he was really looking forward to the match up with his PA cousins.

So, once again I said, “Adios mi amigo.” And let him go back in the water.

Cool fish, SHORTY. I bought my mother a fishing pole this weekend and she tied into one mean 15" smallie that did a little water walking on her. She was ecstatic. Those smallies sure put a smile on people's faces.

Nedoc - here is another 9 incher I caught Saturday a few minutes after the first one. Both of them were on the BG beds on the dam. This one was all fired up about what he heard regarding the smack talk about his mother. \:D

Fluent Spanish, you say?

Needless to say, I too am impressed. However, I wonder....was the Spanish in your curriculum? The reason I ask is because I've suspected that my smallies are reading up "on the outside," and therefore retaining material that is not approved under my training regimen. This is no doubt where the smack-talk got introduced.

It could be that they have retained the services of another instructor.

Sunil :

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that's what friends are for. I got a call from Deb and the paranormal people. They said that your smartest fish in the world were sending out ESP activity about their training. It seems that the guys you were seeing wandering up the RR track are coming in at night and teaching the SMB smack-talk , meth. making and very bad language. Expect to hear some new vile words from them. Recall they are still young and easily influenced by the riff-raff . I hope you can undo the damage or better yet teach them to just say no and turn the bum's in. \:D :p

Ahhhh yes, but isn't it true......whenever you catch a wiff of something stinky going on,.............there's usually already a huge steaming pile hidden somewhere.

I thought I could shelter these smallies from the harsh world. I was wrong.

What have I done????

Book-smart, meth addicted smallmouth....I suppose it's time for an intervention.

About the smack talk, Mudcat Joe sez "They larn it at school, and 'ats why I never up and went." He adds that schooled fish always get caught on artificial lures because [this is making even me nauseated], "They are hooked on phonies."
