LOOK...there's even enough room on the seat for a cooler!....looks like you're testing the required arm movement to efficiently extract a 12 oz beverage of choice.
(ooops...now I see...wasted arm movement performing a secondary operation)

New trees are tough to take care of. I planted 200 conservation seedlings just before my wife gave birth last year. I had her help for the first couple of months, but once the kiddo came, I was on my own. I used a 200 gal tank in the back of my truck, not nearly as easy as you have with the golf cart.

I've found a good container for watering things that can be found pretty cheap all over the country. Find a large machine shop in your area and you'll find that they buy water based tool lubricant in giant 350 gallon poly containers. These containers are cube shaped about 3.5 feet on a side and come mounted in a galvanized steel cage with a steel pallet on the bottom. They have a 1.5 inch PVC ball valve outlet on one end and a 10 inch screw on lid in the top. Ask the company what they do with the empty containers. I think they recycle them for reuse but I contacted the company that picks them up and they sold me one for $100. I simply fork it onto my utility trailer with a hose connected to the outlet and can haul 350 gallons at a time.

bz has the right idea. I picked up 2 similar tanks at 275 gal each for $50 each. Some guy was selling 'em by the side of the road about 20 miles away from my home. He said that he picked up 75 of 'em at an auction. I have a couple of ideas for application, one of which is noted above. I picked up a shur-flo 12v pump off of Ebay. Add a cart, a couple of fittings, hose, clamps, blah blah blah and there ya go.
This link is from a midwest mag for what appears to be the same product. The link will likely lapse pretty soon.

I use a 275 gal tote fill it up and use the tractor to fill up the 55 gal plastic barrels or other containes the I have a drip hose on. Works good and I don't have to make the rounds very often to keep the trees happy.

Brettski, yep that's what I've got. Mine must be a little bigget cause it has a graduated scale on the side that I think goes up to 350 gallons. These thinks are the best for hauling water. Very durable, I had a 2 foot diameter oak tree fall on mine, trunk landed right on top, it only bent the metal frame a bit, still perfectly useable. Had to use a big skid loader to lift the tree off. For 80 bucks you can't do without one if you've got a big enough trailer or pickup to haul it while full.
