My name is Chuck and a new subscriber to pond boss. Just wanted to say Hi and show you a few pictures of my family's new 20 acre lake (no water yet). Welcome to PB. Where is this?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Holy Samoly! A freakin' monster in the making. You should be proud, rcj4...very exciting. Give us some background...a few details. How big is the dam? Do you have an aerial shot or rendering of the shape and dimensions?

(need confirm this) 4:1 slope, 18" vertical steel pipe 35' long, 15" hortizontal steel pipe 269' long, 55 acres water shed (PE says 21" will fill the lake), Plan to put 1000 bream in Jan to Mar. time frame (state recommendation)& 500 LMB per acre later on in the year (again state recomendation). Hope to grow trophy bass. Weclome all comments. Just a rookie and need all the help I can get! Thanks Chuck

Chuck welcome to the PB forum. I thought your pond was in the SE due to trees , summer haze in pics and dirt color and type. Looks a lot like ours in central Miss. Do some reading here and you will see that your goals for the pond determine how to get there. You really need to think hard about what you want after doing some reading here. I strongly recommend that you call the PB office http://www.pondboss.com/ and get the books "Raising Trophy Bass" and "Basic Pond Management" . They are not expensive and are easy to read also order PB Magazine( less than $ 75 for the lot) . If you want a trophy bass lake at that point then forget the state suggestions. You will have the answers here and in the books on how to get there. A lot of us here will be glad to help you with the journey.
