Broadcaster on the BBC actually had to apologize to "marine algae" for using the term "seaweed." Weed is derogatory, I guess. No, I'm not making this up. Oh, they have changed the name of the "Gypsy Moth" to "Spongy Moth". Calling Lepidoptera "Gypsies" was insulting.
