Hello all. A Newbie here. I have a small (1/5 surface acre) farm pond. Maximum depth is 10 feet. I have no problem (yet) with stratification, but would like to make sure I don't. What do you think of a small, solar-powered, floating fountain? I know the water pumped above the surface wouldn't do too much, but here's the difference: I'd run a pipe up from near the bottom to the pump inlet. This would draw that bottom layer of water to the surface. The aspect of the pump floating would allow for changing water levels due to evaporation and rain. The pipe going to the bottom would have to be flexible, with some type of inlet protection to prevent it being clogged with detritus. Am I trying to re-invent the wheel- does some company already make units like this? Or will the volume of water moved be insignificant? Thanks in advance.
