I was looking in the Agricultural Handbook 590 Ponds—Planning, Design, Construction and saw that it recommended side slopes of 3/1 and 2/1 depending on the fill material. Is that 3 ft. of rise to 1 ft of run or the other way around. I assume it is rise over run but that sounds kind of steep to me. Thanks for any help.

Welcome, Slymer1986 (Ghostbusters fan?) 3 ft of horiz run for every 1 ft of rise. When I get confused, I look at 12" floor tiles and draw an imaginary line.
