Geez, I looked at the date of my last blog post here. How do I expect you to stay up to date, if I don't?
Welcome to 2022!
The pond management world is changing, as we speak. I see an increase in demand. Demand for knowledge, more products, more service. I see a decrease in some supply. Fish hatcheries are running out of fish faster than normal. That's due, in some part, to increased costs, less available labor, and COVID-related supply chain issues. But, it's also because of a higher demand from consumers. Heavy on "higher demand".
I see a couple more things happening as well. With a dwindling labor force, pond management companies are struggling to find qualified people with a strong enough work ethic to meet the demands of the job. Even harder to find are those with some level of passion.
All that to say this...opportunities in the pond management industry abound. If you know someone with a drive, passion, work ethic, and desire...this business needs them. More and more people are buying rural recreational property than ever before. There is a need.
On a personal front, our lives have been changing as well. Debbie and I sold LL,2, and found a place we're mostly finished with remodeling, near Lake Granbury, Texas.
We're shifting lifestyles into a more manageable one...thankfully. In the meantime, since my last blog post, we've led a hectic life...too hectic. Thankfully, we're able to slow down now, enjoy grandkids and spend time helping people design, build, oversee stocking, develop management plans and guide them to become better stewards of their land and water.

Pond Boss magazine continues to grow, albeit slowly. If you haven't subscribed to the magazine, please do. That annual $35 subscription is what fuels the economy of Pond Boss and helps bring this forum to you. Like I say on my Wednesday Facebook Live show "$35 a year, cheaper than a Friday night date and lasts a year".

Years ago, if anyone asked me what Pond Boss was, I'd answer, "It's a bi-monthly magazine." Today, the answer is more extensive. We are a multi-media company. We've had 7 national conferences, have a website loaded with free content...videos, articles, podcasts, this discussion forum, heavy social media presence and, most importantly, people all over the nation who contribute at different levels. You can actually say Pond Boss is a family. It truly is.

If you want to hear from me personally, send an email to info@pondboss.com and I'll get back to you.

Here's a toast to 2022! One of my resolutions is to spend more time here, hanging out with the great folks who make up this forum.

Welcome back and to a little slower life.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
