What species of fish are fathead minnows? They kind of look like suckers to me.

Fatheads = pimephalis promelas , Family cyprinidae. This family includes , shiners,minnows, carp,chubs and daces + .
The suckers {and buffalo} are in the catostomidae family. For what its worth thats the answer.

Good answer ewest.
Isn't it funny some of the fish in the so called "minnow" family can get very large? "Minnow" in the english language is a word that is somewhat eroneous.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
