i have a 1/2 acre pond in eastern north carolina at the beginning of october 2004 i stocked my pond with the following fingerlings 250 native bluegill,150 redears,50 channel cats, and 7 pounds of fathead minnows.i am already seeing several different sized bluegills so i think they might have already spawned once. i still have not seen any channel cats so i do not know how big they are.i was planning on stocking my pond with about 30 3-4 inch largemouth bass at the end of may. does anyone think that the channel cats are big enough to eat the bass or do you think the bass will be ok.thanks for any advice in this area.

How big were the CC when they went in?
The CW is that CCats don't get very predatory until they reach about 2 lbs. (probably 15"-16" in length).
If you feed, the CC will most certainly show up and you can 1) get a good visual on their size, 2) satiate them so they aren't interested in LMB fingerlings, and 3) increase their size really quick.
I would go ahead with the Bass stocking as you plan.
