Anyone heard about this potential new Texas state record? Is it real?

"new Hybrid Striped Bass record, out of Lake Tawakoni, 8.985 pounds, 26.5 inches 02/24/05"

If so, I really think some of us pond meisters in Texas may have a legitimate shot at this record in a couple of years.

Larry, we better increase our feeding program to catch up with John Haney’s HSB record at 19.66 pounds caught 06-20-84 from lake Ray Hubbard.

ML,
Think you should go for that 6.25 lb tilapia record.

I think this must be a fly rod record. Apparently, this fish was caught on a spoon fly and is being accepted as a state record on the fly rod.

I thought the all tackle record must be larger...thanks George.

Gumboot, I'll never see a 6.5 pound Tilapia unless I can get a BIG greehouse for the winter. \:\)
