on february 14, i stocked 5,000 coppernose/redear and 40 lbs fathead minnows. 3 1/2 weeks ago i set an automaic feeder to feed 1 sec 4 times per day. no takers. i have now changed the feeder to 1 sec 2 times per day until they start eating so i don't overfertize the water with uneaten food. would you just keep letting it throw for a sec 2 times per day until they start feeding and then increase to the correst amount? i just today had a local feedstore to order me 4 bags of the very small pellets to see if that helps. but am i ruining the water by continueing to feed w/o them eating, or do i just keep on and they will evidently start. the blue gill were 1-3 inches and the pond is 5 acrea in NE texas. thank.

lots of natural foods in the new pond. Also not sure of your water temp but just starting to get time to start feeding here, 60 degrees. I tell clients with feeders to set this time of year for late afternon hottest part of day. I recommend just the one feeding until you see some activity. Once they start feeding well add other feedings. Back up to late and early once the summer heat gets going.
