Hey guys,

I was on the net and found kensfishfarm in Georgia. He is selling "Giant Georgia Bluegill" and has a picture of an awsome 5 pounder.

Any of you have any experience or knowledge of this "Georgia Giant?"

Dennis

Yep...Apparently Georgia Giants grow on the same farm that has a population of "Hogzillas", or mythically sized feral hogs. Type in keyword "Hogzilla" and you'll be treated with all sorts of entertainment concerning monstrous feral hogs that happen to inhabit the same farm as the Georgia Giant.

That photo is my screen saver. Gotta admit, it's a nice fish. I just don't think it's a hybrid. I think it's a purebred redear that happened to be the only fella of his type in a pond that had lots of snails. The website claims the pond had been stocked "twenty years previously" with this special breed of hybrid. Any biologist who's aged fish in Georgia I'll betcha hasn't found a sunfish scale with twenty rings on it.

Whatever....Next time I'm in Georgia I'll try to pull off the legendary double. Catch a five-pound Georgia Giant and shoot a 1,200 pound feral hog in the same day. Can't wait.

I'll just say this and you figure it out. Spoke with a elderly gentlelmen yesterday about to sotck his lake and wanted my opinion and prices. I did not know me at all and belived Ken pretty much but a little surprised at his price.

7 acres and he was going to buy $5500 in water quality improvement products after receiving his "free water analysis" from Ken. Then 30,000 bluegill and ga giant, 2700 bass, plus other stuff anyway $16,000. All said over $22000 for his pond.

I gave him a plan to add ag lime, and stock proper fish for his goals <$2500. So do you believe the "truth" on the GA GIant??

I to was told my water quality was bad by Kens and he could fix me up for about 10,000. I past on that but did buy the Ga. Giants. now i am in a fix with them turning into Green sun fish. They did not tell me about the down side of putting them into my lake.
I would not recommend puttimg them in your lake. I did not know what i was doing and got burned.

Wow! None of my clients are that gullible, nor would I want them to be. I've seen some similar stuff around here with a certain outfit or two, but nothing quite THAT bad.

Sheesh.
