I am in the process of building an 8 acre pond in North Texas. I am considering purchasing an Agri Drain In-Line water level control system for my Primary Spillway. I would need an 18" pipe system.
Has anyone used this product, and if so, how do you like it?
It looks pretty slick. You can adjust your water level easily, and it allows bottom water removal, all for about the same cost as installing a traditional Morning Glory spillway.

We used an agri-drain in-line product in our .25 acre fathead minnow pond. I am very happy with the product and their service! They are hard to beat for small to medium applications.
Good luck, Ed

I love the agri Drain system. I have a 40 acer wetland pool that drains approx 200 acres of hill ground in the Missouri River bottom. I hold 3 feet of water max. and it will drain in 3 to 4 days with the gates wide open with a 12 inch discharge pipe. wirh an 18 inch pipe and only 8 acers you might be able to get pretty quick draw down. the only negative is the width of the weare(Spelling) width of the drain as it only will drains as fast as the width of the plastic slats. Your last 18 inches will slow down as the volume of water going into the pipe decreases. I have had the system installed since the summer of 1998 and have had NO maintiance issues. Very simple to use great flexability, freeze proof, doesn't rust, lockable, easy accessaround the dam/levee as you don't have to drive around or through a spillway. easy to keep clean around for mowing ect... very neet and tidy. rcater@bankbcm.com

This stuff still captures my interest. Please allow me to supply the Agri-drain link for like minds. Agri-drain Inline sys 8 Ac is pretty substantial. Does A-D calculate the potential inflow/outflow for your specific application, then recommend a suitable unit to handle the capacity? I also gotta guess that an 8 ac pond of reasonable depth will have a dam base that will require a bit more than the standard supply of 12' of pipe...?
