What kind of algae is this? seems to float around the surface in small patches. It the picture the wind has pushed it together.

I am no expert, but it could be blue-green algae that can be toxic to people and animals, so be careful.

General appearance looks to be bluegreen and could be any one of about 60 common species. Keep your dogs out of it.

Thanks. Hopefully the 4.8 inches of rain yesterday dispersed it. If not, what is a potential remedy?

Remedy? Spray just the surface films with a 5:1 dilution of (water:Cutrine-Plus liquid) or spread some Green Clean Pro granules on top of the down wind film.

I had this same algae last summer. It made me a bit nervous. I checked into spraying it, but before I could even get spray stuff ordered, it went away. I did shut down my feeder at the same time. I do not know if that helped or not, but it sure went away quickly. I hope yours does as well.

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.
